Come and spend a day in the newly restored kitchen of the Speaker’s House learning the ins and outs of what it takes to be a hearth cook while preparing a German receipt (recipe) from the 1700s. From health and safety to deciphering the mysteries of a colonial kitchen, you will be guided on your way by hearth cook Ruth Konrad, who brings over 20 years of experience and finds great joy in unlocking historic foodways. Join us for a day of exploration and adventure!
