While folk art flowers are trending in popular culture, the roots of these images in Pennsylvania German culture run deep. Join Emily Smucker-Beidler in this 3 hour workshop where we’ll explore how fraktur artists used pattern and color to create colorful tulips. Tulip images from current day rural Switzerland will lend understanding to this early American folk art of fraktur. Participants will start with their choice of a tulip template. They will then be shown how to alter and create a small finished piece in their own individual style.

All ability levels are welcome, ages 13-100! All materials, including a personal watercolor set, are included.
