One of the most personal ways to explore American history is through the sense of taste, but deciphering early receipts (recipes) is quite a challenge due to differences in language, measurements, and methods. Come explore strategies while working on two 1700s German receipts. You will be guided on your way by cook Ruth Konrad, who with over 20 years of experience has found great joy in unlocking the foodways of our regional ancestors. It will be a day of exploration and adventure!

Bring your lunch. You will also have the opportunity to sample your culinary creations. We will be working in pairs, so why not ask a friend to join you?

Held at the Speaker's House, 151 W. Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.

Cost: $70 Member, $75 Non-Member. Advanced tickets required. This workshop is limited to 8 people.
